McAllen Lawyer Elected President of the TADC

First Rio Grande Valley Lawyer elected

MCALLEN – September 18, 2012 – Dan Worthington, a partner in the McAllen office of Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez, LLP, will be sworn in as President of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel at its Annual Meeting on September 29, 2012.

Dan, who is the first Rio Grande Valley lawyer elected as TADC President, has been a civil litigator with the Atlas, Hall & Rodriguez law firm since 1992 and has served with the TADC since 1999. He graduated from Pan American University with a B.A. in 1985 and received his J.D. from the University of Houston in 1992. While serving as the TADC Legislative Vice-President and later Executive Vice-President, he has actively participated in the drafting and review of legislative proposals impacting the Texas Civil Justice System.

He looks forward to helping the organization promote its role as the voice of the Texas defense bar. “My election as President is as much due to the support and help I have received from my law partners and other board members as it is on any individual effort on my part. The TADC is truly a ‘team sport.’ I look forward to validating the trust of my peers in allowing me to serve.”

The Texas Association of Defense Counsel (TADC) is an approximately 2000-member association of Texas attorneys who primarily represent Defendants in civil cases brought in the Texas civil justice system. Since it’s founding in 1960, the TADC has actively promoted the interests of its members and their clients in advancing and protecting an efficient, fair and accessible civil jury system in Texas.
