VELMA G. ANDERSON, a partner in the transactional section, has experience representing clients in real estate, banking and corporate matters. Her practice involves commercial lending, the sale and acquisition of real property, commercial leasing, entity formation and business and asset acquisitions. Velma's representative clients at the firm include financial institutions, beer distributors, and real estate developers.

Velma is a native of South Texas, having been born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but relocated to McAllen when she was a year old. Velma was the valedictorian of McAllen High School and a National Merit Scholar. She graduated from Trinity University with a degree in Engineering Science. Velma began her practice at the firm in 1986, after receiving her J.D. from the University of Texas Law School.

Velma serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Planned Parenthood Association of Hidalgo County, Texas, Inc. and is actively involved with her church, First United Methodist Church of McAllen, where she is a member of the Motet Choir and has served on the Administrative Board.

Velma and her husband have three children.
